Navigate your way around our News, Gallery, Blogs and Calendar to find out what we are getting up to!

Our Class Book

In English, we will be reading Escape from  Pompeii. The story is getting very exciting and we can't wait to find out what will happen.

Will Tranio and Livia leave?

What will happen to Pompeii?

Our History topic this term is:

Physical Education

PE will be on Friday's each week. It is essential that the children have their PE kits in school each week. We will also be undertaking the Golden Mile and preparing for our fantastic sports day

                                                                   Cookery
Year 4 are taking part in cookery activities on Wednesday's. The children will be split into several groups, and use the facilities of the school kitchen area for pupils with a qualified member of staff.

                                                        Times-Table Rockstars
Your child has an account on Times-Table Rockstars and should be practising on increasing their rock speed, though they may train in the garage area of the site to earn virtual coins and gain confidence. Here is the direct link to the website:
ttrockstars.com

                                         Improving Reading Comprehension Online
Your child also has an account on readtheory.org, an excellent website designed to test your child on a variety of reading extracts and quizzes based on these, which then tracks your child's progress and makes decisions on whether to increase or decrease the difficulty of the texts based on their answering of the comprehension exercises.

    Other useful information:

Contacting me: Please use the usual lines of enquiry (either in person at the end of the day, or via the school office and also via the Class Dojo messaging system).

Snacks / Bacon rolls: Snacks are available at break every day, and bacon rolls for £1 on Friday's. You may pay for your child's bacon roll, should they wish one, via the online payment system.

Reading diaries / Reading books: Please keep an eye on your child's reading diary, to ensure they or you are writing the name of their current reading book, when they read, and which pages. It helps us a lot to track how much reading is going on, how often, and where we can target support. Thank you for your help in this!

Homework: Weekly homework includes time to test yourself on TT Rockstars and ReadTheory, but your child also receives a spelling list and a half-termly Dojo Homework Project Challenge list. This summer term, we have reduced the amount of tasks per column to two. However, we will be awarding extra dojo points for each of the categories (1 dojo, 3 dojos, 5 dojos) if the item in question shows particular merit or effort with presentation.
