PE and Sports Funding

Our Vision: ‘Support and Sustain PE Excellence’

We do this through:

  • Promoting healthy active lifestyles
  • Engaging in competitive activities
  • Developing determination to excel in a broad range of activities for the children throughout their lives.

In PE, we want to inspire young people to participate and enjoy physical activity. We want them to recognise the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle which continues into adulthood. This can be done through the following the Spirit of the Games values:

RESPECT – Treat others politely and with understanding.

HONESTY - Be truthful and promote fairness in every situation

DETERMINATION - Work hard to overcome challenges

TEAMWORK - Treat everyone equally, support each other and work together to have fun and achieve

PASSION – Approach each opportunity with enthusiasm and positivity

SELF-BELIEF - Always strive to achieve your potential

In 2013 the government introduced a grant for all primary schools to support and improve delivery of physical education. Each primary school receives a lump sum of money, dependent on the size of the school and the number of children within it.

In the academic year 2017/18 we received £17340 in funding and in 2018/19 we expect to receive £16000 plus £10 per pupil in funding. Information relating to how the school has spent the funding in 2017/18 and how we plan to spend the funding in 2018/19 is outlined in the documents below.
